Volunteer: Join the MOFC Virtual Volunteer Team!

Become a Mid-Ohio Food Collective Virtual Volunteer, where passion meets purpose and change is just a click away. You'll be part of an online team of like-minded individuals committed to making food available to those who most need it - even if you can't be here in person.

How does it work?  Virtual Volunteer Campaigns will be posted on an annual cycle.

When we drop a new campaign we'll send out a message (currently via email, texting coming in 2024) to all Virtual Volunteers to 'sign up' for the shift(s). By signing up you're indicating that you'll be sharing our campaign messaging on your social networks.  We'll send everyone our Social Press Kit, which is a website with preloaded content for you to choose from. As you share on your different platforms and/or different days, you'll keep track of the number of posts.   You'll self-report your hours weekly based on a simple rate of 10 minutes per post.*

We're new to this, too, so we'd love to have your feedback on the process and how we can make it better!

The shift hours look kind of crazy, do you want us to post only during those times? Not at all. You are free to post whenever you normally would - or what time you'd like to. We set the odd hours to keep these shifts clear of the more congested part of our schedule - easier to find :)

Will Virtual Volunteer opportunities always be social media related?  No! This is a new program, so it will take a little time for us to get our footing.  We are working towards including other activities that can be done remotely.

*If you are fulfilling hours for school, work, college, or court please be sure that your virtual hours will count towards your requirements.

Still not sure about something? It's easy to book a time to talk to someone on the Volunteer Services team! Click here and you'll be able to choose a day and time for a phone call or virtual meeting!
