If you answered yes to these questions, we need you as a Disaster Action Team Member!  Disaster Action Team Members work as part of a team to provide 24-hour response to local disasters, primarily house fires, ensuring affected individuals have basic necessities such as shelter, food and clothing.  You are the person who helps them through the first 24-48 hours and then you connect them with Red Cross Recovery Teams to help them make plans for their long-term recovery.

Qualifications include:

Able to communicate between email and telephone Must be 18 years or older Have reliable transportation Ability to provide one-on-one support to persons in crisis Willing to respond as needed in challenging conditions (i.e. all weather types and long hours) Strong attention to detail Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds Maintain confidentiality Basic computer skills Ability and willingness to learn and use technology related to the position Ability to complete all required training in a timely manner 

 

Training is provided at no cost. The Red Cross asks that all disaster response volunteers complete all essential training and volunteer a minimum number of hours a month.

Save lives and prevent injury by being a member of the Home Fire Campaign Team.  Specific roles could vary, including being a member of home visit teams to install smoke alarms and educate residents, conduct neighborhood canvassing, facilitate planning events and more according to local program needs.

Providing first aid at community events Provide emergency care only within the level of your American Red Cross training Respond quickly to emergencies Follow directions given by FAST Station Leader and paid staff Work in conjunction with Emergency Medical Services personnel Provide outstanding customer service Properly complete FAST records and reports Follow FAST guidelines as established by the American Red Cross-National Headquarters Represent that Red Cross in a professional manner at all times

 

 

Qualifications:

Complete Introduction to FAST Orientation Complete all FAST required training and maintain certifications  Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly Flexible and adaptable Able to communicate clearly Able to give and take instructions Ability to lift at least 50 pounds (using proper lifting technique) Willingness and ability to learn and use Red Cross technology and reporting platforms Must have reliable transportation to events Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time Must be able to work in all weather conditions

Blood Transportation Specialist literally help SAVE LIVES with every shift they volunteer!

 

Blood Transportation Specialists transport blood and blood products throughout the region, from blood donation sites to Red Cross labs and from the labs to hospitals and clinics, where it is needed by patients. Specialists do this in Red Cross vehicles – saving wear and tear on your private vehicle!

Responsibilities:

Transport blood from collection site to Red Cross laboratory Transport finished blood or blood products to hospitals/clinics Pick up empty boxes from hospitals as necessary Deliver supplies to blood collection sites as needed Complete required paperwork and obtain signatures as necessary Communicate with Red Cross staff on feedback from customers or any urgent issues Drive in a safe and responsible manner as a representative of the American Red Cross

 

Qualifications:

Volunteer: Blood Donor Ambassadors - NEEDED

If you answered yes, then you are the person we are looking for!  Blood Drive Volunteers ensure that blood donors have a pleasant and fulfilling experience, from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. The Red Cross collects and distributes about 40 percent of our nation’s blood supply. When you help create a fulfilling donation experience and encourage donors to make a long-term commitment to regular donations, you improve our ability to meet this critical need.

Responsibilities include:

Welcome and greet donors Manage the flow of donors between the waiting and donation area Assist with donor registration Confirm donation appointment Provide donors with information Make reminder calls Perform follow up activities as directed Serve refreshments and talk to donors after their donation Attend to donors in the Hospitality Area Alert blood drive employees if a donor does not appear to be well Make sure donor information remains confidential

If you answered yes, then you are the person we are looking for!  Blood Drive Volunteers ensure that blood donors have a pleasant and fulfilling experience, from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. The Red Cross collects and distributes about 40 percent of our nation’s blood supply. When you help create a fulfilling donation experience and encourage donors to make a long-term commitment to regular donations, you improve our ability to meet this critical need.

Responsibilities include:

Welcome and greet donors Manage the flow of donors between the waiting and donation area Assist with donor registration Confirm donation appointment Provide donors with information Make reminder calls Perform follow up activities as directed Serve refreshments and talk to donors after their donation Attend to donors in the Hospitality Area Alert blood drive employees if a donor does not appear to be well Make sure donor information remains confidential

Qualifications include:

Customer service skills Friendly disposition Great verbal communication skills Relationship building skills Punctual and dependable Basic computer skills Ability to represent the American Red Cross in the community Reliable transportation to shifts

Training is provided at no cost. The Red Cross asks that Blood Drive Volunteers provide 4-6 hours of service a month (this is about the time that it takes to volunteer at one blood drive).  You access the potential shifts and register to volunteer for the one that works best in your schedule.

Just follow the directions from there to complete the application and background check.  Be sure to have a photo ID handy (driver's license, passport, visa, state issued ID), you will be asked to upload a picture of it for identification purposes.  After your application and background check process, a member of our volunteer screening team will reach out to you via phone/text/email - please be sure to respond!
