On August 19th over 30 community partners, resources and AFC programs will be on hand to make sure families are ready for the 2023-2024 school year! This year, we will be giving away 500+ backpacks and clothing in addition to other fun activities and food!
About the Volunteer Shifts:
August 16th: Meet at Greater Liberty Temple Church at 1132 Windsor Ave. Columbus, OH 43211 at 10 AM to help unload donated backpacks, and other supplies for the event. This shift requires heavy lifting, bending, walking. Snacks and water will be provided. Shift is expected to take <2 hours.
August 19th: Meet at Greater Liberty Temple Church at 1132 Windsor Ave. Columbus, OH 43211 at 9 AM to help set up for our event. This shift requires heavy lifting, bending, walking. Shift will end at 11 AM when the fair opens.
About Volunteering with Action for Children:
- Volunteers must be 16 or older. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present.
- All volunteers must sign/acknowledge the Action for Children volunteer waiver, which you can download via the waiver link at the bottom of the registration page. Copies of the waiver will be available at your shift.
- If you are looking to receive volunteer service hours; it is the responsibility of the volunteer to provide paperwork for an Action for Children representative to sign at the time service hours are completed.
